It’s the work of August’s Monthly Featured Artist : SoLoretta Each month, we’re teaming up with a unique artist to produce a special commemorative piece featuring our one and only Crunchyroll-Hime! SoLoretta says, “ I was the lucky artist tasked with drawing the cute Hime-chan in my own manga style! My love for drawing has always revolved around pretty girls in both manga and fashion. To give everybody a quick background of my inspirations, Sailor moon was the anime that triggered my passion for drawing when growing up. My obsession with Sailor Moon is still going strong, and the 2014 reboot of Sailor Moon Crystal on Crunchyroll, furthered strengthened my love for Usagi and her girls! My inspiration randomly came to me while eating at a Japanese restaurant with my boyfriend. The doorways in the restaurant were displayed with the traditional “Noren” banners allowing me to feel the nostalgia during my days when interning in Tokyo. It even reminded me so much of the very first time I had traditional ramen that I could almost taste it! This urged me to draw Hime, all poised and confident in front of the traditional Japanese restaurant banners. I am so excited and honored to be the one to draw Hime-chan for Crunchyroll.
